Every entry at Hotshot receives personalized written feedback and individual scores from each judge. We are committed to recognizing exceptional talent in both dancers and studios, offering a wide range of special awards and exciting opportunities. Certificates, medals, and trophies are awarded to all dancers placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.

Judging

Hotshot Dance Competition features a panel of three industry professionals, each bringing extensive experience and expertise across a wide range of dance styles. Every judge completes individual score sheets, with an independent adjudicator responsible for calculating final scores. We offer a variety of awards to celebrate each performer’s unique strengths, along with trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

What We Look For

Each dance will be judged according to the following criteria:
• Technique
• Performance
• Choreography
• Musicality

Be In The Know

Our judges will assess each performance based on their expert knowledge of the specific dance genre and technique. They have a strong understanding of the technical, performance, content, and musicality requirements unique to each style. To ensure fair and consistent results, judges will also consider the variety of dance styles within each section.

Trophies for all dances that place 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Please note that additional trophies are available to purchase for duos, trios and groups.
